Hey There.

The strategies that teachers use in the classroom are valuable outside the classroom. You know this. It's time everyone had access to the things teachers know. Now you do. Welcome!

All By Myself

All By Myself

The rain is pouring and it's time to go.

"Please, put on your boots."

He stops what he is doing to comply. This is worth noting. He is 2. Big Things.

Putting on his boots is a challenge. I sit to help. Pick up the boot. He smacks me on the head. He is 2. Impulse control is also "Big Things."

"Still developing brain," I remind myself.

"We don't hit," I remind him.

"I do it! All By Myself!!!"

He grabs my arm for balance. I hold the boot still with my other hand. He lifts his foot aims for boot and puts his foot down.

"I did it! All By Myself!"

Repeat with other foot.

Yes. Yes, you lifted your foot and put it down- all by yourself.

Am I 2? How is it I also forget all the scaffolding around me? The support I take for granted, the advantages.

Do I think that I walk alone? That all is on my own merit, strength?

Eyes open to the support in my life; the ones I notice and the ones that my eyes are blind to.

I don't do it 'all by myself.'

Thanks for reading.

Fact being I finished the book. I only finish books if I want to, so take from that what you will.  Below, I'll also include what I am currently reading with no promise of ever finishing.
